So Say We All is thrilled to be collaborating with The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego - La Jolla to present an evening of true stories created in response and inspired by the career retrospective exhibit of artist Celia Álvarez Muñoz: Breaking the Binding.

Submission deadline: Wednesday, May 10th, 2023. Details, guidelines, and submission form are here.

We'll be presenting an evening of narrative pieces created in response to, and inspired by, Celia Álvarez Muñoz.

Explore the artist's works, and submit any of the following:

- true stories
- narrative poetry
- short fiction

Submissions should be <10 min. (around 1500 words).

Spanning forty years of work, the artist’s playful, witty style is often characterized by her use of bilingual puns and mistranslations in both text and image. Muñoz often draws inspiration from her lived experience as a mother and as a resident of the United States-Mexico borderlands.
