Grab A Bevvie, Tell A Story, Buy Some Gifts

Like the scent of fresh-cut pine

Storytelling is one of the oldest forms of entertainment, and it's still as important to communities today as it was 44,000 years ago in the Sulawesi caves. One thing that seems to go hand-in-hand with telling stories? Drinks! From Chaucer to Cheers, there are examples aplenty of people enjoying a beverage and regaling a crowd with a tale -- be it bawdy, embarrassing, morose, or hilarious. Ale, iced tea, root beer, wine, all contribute to great speeches, stories, comedy sets, and more. Proving that a little bit of liquid courage in hand, even if it's soda or water, can help a person confidently take the mic.

LONG STORY SHORT + THORN = FUN!

Long Story Short is an unscripted (but you're welcome to prepare) storytelling show, wherein anyone can throw their name into our hat and be called upon randomly to tell their story. Or you can just watch! No pressure, only fun. And we love being at Thorn St. Brewery! Last month we had a blast, and we can't wait to see what December's show brings.

The only criteria are that your story be:
-Told without notes or a script
-Told in 5 minutes or fewer
-Be on-theme (even loosely)

December's Long Story Short is all about the stories that you have to laugh about, because the alternative is just not really an option.

Thursday December 2nd @ 7pm
Thorn Brewery
3176 Thorn St.

Note: there are a few stairs to the back room; there is a separate, stair-free entrance around the left side of the building.

VAMP + DECEMBER = PARTY!

Thursday, 12/30 will be our last VAMP of 2021! You know what that means, right? It'll be a celebration! In keeping with the theme of December's VAMP, "Naughty Or Nice," we'll bid adieu to the year -- the bad, the good, the atrocious, and the awesome. We'll send out wishes for 2022 together, and toast to making it through 2021. And maybe, just maybe, we'll have a crackin' good dance party. Won't you join us?

December's VAMP Storytelling Showcase revolves around who's getting a gentle pat pat from Santa and who is banished forever to the whips and chains of Krampus's kink dungeon--and who is luckier.

VAMP: Naughty or Nice
December 30th, 2021 @ 8pm
