The Conrad Prebys Foundation supports SSWA!

So Say We All is beyond honored to announce we are a recipient of an incredibly generous grant from The Conrad Prebys Foundation. Nearly $78 million was given to a myriad of charitable organizations for an incredible host of projects to better San Diego, and we are so proud to be one of them.

“Our staff and board are honored to serve as stewards for The Conrad Prebys Foundation, and with our role comes the responsibility to empower the nonprofits creating meaningful change across San Diego,” said Erin Decker, director of grantmaking for The Conrad Prebys Foundation. “The grantees have exhibited an extraordinary level of resilience, innovation and compassion during this very challenging time, and it is these organizations that will heal our community in the months and years to come. The foundation is proud to be a part of their story.”

“A lifelong enthusiast of visual and performing arts, Conrad often found inspiration during a visit to a theatre, concert hall or museum,” said Tony Cortes, board chair of The Conrad Prebys Foundation. “This has been an extraordinarily difficult year for the arts and culture community, and Conrad would be deeply pleased to see the impact these grants will have in encouraging this community to do what it does best – inspire.”

The Conrad Prebys Foundation was established by real estate entrepreneur Conrad Prebys to perpetuate his commitment to philanthropic endeavors. The Conrad Prebys Foundation inspires transformational change by funding projects in alignment with Conrad Prebys’ legacy interests and continuing his efforts that spark meaningful advancement in our communities. Listen With The Lights Off, So Say We All's delightfully creepy radio horrorshow, is back! With all the success of our three episodes from October as part of La Jolla Playhouse's 2020 Digital WOW Series, we decided to continue our mission of spooking listeners in San Diego and beyond, with three more episodes!

We're going to kick it all off with a special broadcast of Episode 4, which features the darkly comic tale "The Gourd," by Jim Ruland. We're playing the episode at 8:00pm on Friday, April 2, on our new streaming channel on Twitch TV! It's free, and you don't need to sign up for an account unless you want to utilize the chat function (we would love to chat with you). Not only will we stream the episode; we'll feature special guests as well! So hang out with us (virtually) and let's party with the lights off!

LONG STORY SHORT ADMIRES YOU!

21_4_LSS_SecretAdmirer_Leyva.png

Announcing an all-new LSS! This is no April Fool's joke; it's happening! This will be a super-fun night of casual, unscripted, story sharing with friends.

We've all had a secret admirer... or have we? Have we wished for one? Have we wished for one to go away? Have we been the admirer? Were we (un)wanted?

Bring your unscripted (but you're welcome to prepare) tales to our Zoom room for April's LSS! Any interpretations of the theme are welcome. Just bring your lovely self and a friendly, open mind. (And be prepared to chat with our affable host, David Latham!)

About Long Story Short:
LSS is an unscripted (but you're welcome to prepare if you like) storytelling show, wherein anyone can throw their name into our virtual hat and be called upon randomly to tell their story. The only criteria are that your story be:

-Told without notes or a script
-Told in 5 minutes or fewer
-Be on-theme (even loosely)

Long Story Short has become our virtual campfire, where we pass the talking stick around and share our stories. Be they hilarious, heartfelt, bizarre, or all of the above, LSS stories get you connected with your storytelling community. Join in and make new friends! It's a no-pressure situation, where you are welcome to sign up at any point in the event, and even kick back and just listen. We have fun, we connect, and we can't wait to see you in the zoom room.
All you need is a free Zoom account, a computer, and a web camera to participate.
