This October, we’re thrilled to announce a disability-focused edition of our nonfiction, LIVE storytelling showcase– VAMP: Flipping the S'CRIP'T.

Too often disabled stories are filtered through nondisabled actors, writers, or cultural narratives that reduce disability to tragedy, inspiration, or spectacle. VAMP: Flipping the S'CRIP'T is about bringing stories that validate the depth, complexity, humor, grief, creativity, and expertise that already exist within disability communities and creating a space where those experiences can be heard directly, honestly, and without compromise.

Accessibility will be part of the artistic process itself, not an afterthought. Our event, happening October 15th at Kairoa Brewing, is wheelchair accessible, near public transportation routes, and equipped with accessible restrooms and accommodations such as ASL interpretation and livestreaming so community members can participate fully.

To produce this event, So Say We All is partnering with San Diego Writers Ink and Jennifer Gasner (she/her), a San Diego memoirist, disability advocate, and full-time wheelchair user who has been actively involved in the local writing community for more than 10 years.

Note: If the cost of this event is prohibitive for you, but you would still like to attend, please email us at info@sosayweallonline.com.

This activity is supported in part by the California Arts Council, a state agency. Learn more at www.arts.ca.gov
